The Role

We currently require a Course & Conference Producer based at Wilmslow office in Cheshire. The role offers the exciting opportunity to accelerate your career. The successful candidate will be a confident, dynamic individual with a strong passion for professional development who can lead and make things happen. The Production team is a small team which works together to create and offer over 350 subject courses, over 40 student revision conferences and between 12 – 16 national conferences per year, based on current key changes and directions.  The company also provides over 400 in-school training and professional development to schools, MATS and alliances across the UK.  Working with the production team are the company course and conference speakers who number over 400 and who work with the company in producing the programmes.

As part of the current expansion programme, the company is also looking at expanding into HE conference programmes.

This is an exceptionally interesting and varied role, and is a perfect opportunity for driven individuals who are looking to specialise in research, excellent training and professional development in secondary education and possibly moving into HE.

To excel in this role you will need to be a creative, strategic thinker who enjoys research to create programmes, can analyse current trends and directions, can implement innovation and change, possesses good leadership and relationship skills, and who operates in anticipation of business needs. You must have the ability to think on your feet and should possess strong planning and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct in-depth research and build operational knowledge on a range of education and public policy areas to create national conferences and direct the production of subject and non-subject based courses, revision conferences and training
  • Work with existing presenter teams, develop and source new presenters and speakers for conferences and build up relationships with essential education leads
  • Ensure the highest quality of relevant, up-to-date provision across conferences, student revision conferences, teacher courses, webinars, moderation services
  • Identify and implement new directions and trends,  new thinking, to drive forward change in secondary education
  • Generate and develop new professional development ideas
  • Identify and invite sector leaders and experts to speak across a portfolio of conferences, and professional development provision, events and training
  • Assess and analyse courses, conferences and presenters as part of a continuous process of improving our offer to schools, whilst ensuring the high standards of our training is maintained
  • Understand our customers’ needs and create bespoke in-school training courses and conferences to meet those requirements, across a broad range of schools and institutions
  • Meet conferences and course deadline through confirming speakers, collecting presentations and courses

Education, Experience and Competencies

  • Current knowledge of secondary education
  • Proven creative skills with an ability to spot, and develop opportunities
  • Excellent research, analytical, and evaluation skills
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, including copywriting skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Strong prioritization/time management skills and ability to work independently and efficiently to a high standard
  • A proven ‘finisher’, who can get things done to see a job through from start to finish
  • Nimble, agile attitude – embraces change & can cope well with ambiguity
  • High Emotional intelligence (EI)/ Emotional quotient inventory (EQ-i), empathy & self-awareness
  • Ambitious & challenging, but within a ‘winning team’ ethos and spirit of respect for colleagues
  • Have a first degree, equivalent experience of higher education, or equivalent professional experience
  • Commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial flair
