Course & Conference Developer

The Role

We now require a Course & Conference Developer for our office in Wilmslow. The role offers the exciting opportunity to accelerate your career, develop your understanding of education sector policies and the wider professional development and training provision.  It is perfect for driven individuals who are looking to specialise in research, professional development in secondary education and HE, project management, and relationship development with key stakeholders with an interest in education and a strong commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct in-depth research and build knowledge on a range of education and public policy areas
  • Produce insightful sector-leading conferences, courses and events, ensuring the highest quality of content, speakers and formats
  • Identify, and invite sector leaders and experts to speak across a portfolio of conferences, and professional development provision, events and training
  • Work closely with speakers to maintain and develop relationships, and to collect in new material
  • Write copy for communications activity which may include mailings, promotional CPD materials, content for the website, working alongside the marketing team
  • Generate and develop new professional development ideas
  • Meet conferences and course deadline through confirming speakers, collecting presentations and courses
  • Oversee on-the-day occasional conference running, including speaker liaisons and relationship management
  • Work collaboratively with schools to tailor their professional development priorities for student conferences, teacher professional development sessions and other training enterprises.

Education, Experience and Competencies

  • Have a first degree, equivalent experience of higher education, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience of working within a team to deliver identified goals
  • Professional development knowledge at both individual and organisational level
  • An appreciation of current issues within education, in particular those affecting secondary and higher education and/or professional development
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to multi-task effectively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Record of working accurately with attention to detail
  • Ability to analyse complex ideas and information
  • Commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial flair
  • Be self motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Flexible and adaptable with an ability to work within and across teams
  • Forward thinking
  • Be willing to travel occasionally throughout the UK
