About Keynote

Keynote is one of the largest producers of Teaching courses and Student conferences in the country, offering around 500 training events every year. The company has contracts with hundreds of education professionals to deliver high quality and relevant products and is seeking a Marketing Lead who can extend and build the company’s reach into all Schools and Colleges.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, tenacious and creative professional not afraid to take risks or take on challenges. They will have a broad spectrum of experience in the marketing field; combining analytical and strategic skills with an ability to respond to changes in the Educational market. The role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a good all-rounder seeking a interesting, challenging and rewarding opportunity. They will need to be able to work in partnership with the other directors of the company to meet ambitious growth goals and be able to learn and adapt as the role develops.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Direct all marketing activities within the organisation;
    • devising and implementing the company’s marketing strategy
    • coordinate with company director, course production, sales and events to ensure marketing matches products, and marketing data feeds back into product design
    • Analyse and evaluate impact of marketing campaigns and overall strategy, identifying actions and changes to improve effectiveness

    • Meet key marketing targets based on market reach and penetration and sales generation
    • Understand and manage marketing data related to the education market; able to use it to effectively evaluate, direct and target marketing activity
    • Commission, manage and oversee other marketing functions such as graphic design, social media channels, promotional materials, whether in house or through external suppliers
    • Integrate and coordinate marketing tools (eblasts, website, promotional materials, course resources) to create clear and cohesive messages about the company and its products
    • Collaborate with course production to create impactful and engaging copy appropriate to our core markets

Experience and requirements

  • Have strategic marketing experience, beyond execution, will need to be able to plan and deliver campaigns, reflecting and learning for next campaign
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply analytical insights into marketing plans
  • Experience of managing full range of marketing functions, ideally within an SME
    • Creating and the successful delivery of marketing campaigns, including direct mail, web, e-marketing, promotional materials and social media
    • Website management in particular SEO for products and content pages to maximise traffic and create marketing leads and sales enquiries
    • Database management: maintain and expand customer data, create and manage mailing lists etc
    • Analytical tools such as Google analytics, Pure 360 Analytics, Facebook pixels
    • Account Based marketing
  • Copywriting skills: understand market, eye for detail, accuracy and design
  • Knowledge of the UK secondary and further education system
  • Experience of working within a professional field and the level of acumen required when addressing target audience
