This course is designed for all teachers of A Level Psychology who wish to further understand assessment for learning and ways to encourage independence in their students. The day will offer truly practical, tried and tested strategies to use assessment as an incredibly powerful tool to raise student attainment.

The sessions before lunch will focus on how to successfully use assessment in the classroom in order to raise attainment. This will include effective data tracking, intervention, target setting and feedback.

The afternoon session will focus on improving the independence of your students with practical examples to achieve this. The new linear specifications have been written with independence in mind. There is a clear link between the outstanding use of AfL and independent approaches: the more high quality feedback and information we can give our students, the more independent they will become: these strategies have been used by the presenter to achieve outstanding A Level examination results. During the day delegates will also have the chance to share good practice, ideas and strategies.
