The DfE document on the content for mathematics AS and A level for teaching from 2017 which sets out the knowledge, understanding and skills common to all AS and A level specifications in mathematics states that ‘The use of technology, in particular mathematical and statistical graphing tools and spreadsheets, must permeate the study of AS and A level mathematics’.
This intensive day course provides opportunities for delegates to become more aware of available technologies to support their mathematics teaching, to develop their skills further in using a range of technologies, and to consider how their use can be integrated into the new A level mathematics.
The course is relevant for all examination boards and will be helpful for those with limited expertise in using technology in their mathematics teaching as well as those who are already confident users and looking to further develop their skills and practice.
Delegates will need to bring their own laptop ideally with Excel, Autograph, Geogebra and Desmos already installed.
