National Conferences Autumn 2018
This autumn we are proud to offer national conferences on two of the most important current issues which schools are facing: staff workload, retention, and wellbeing and improving student performance through extending thinking skills and students’ ability to regulate their learning successfully. With teachers and students both under increasing pressure to produce outstanding achievement with limited resources, approaches and strategies which facilitate high achievement whilst preventing burnout are crucial for the ongoing success of both staff and students in the current challenging educational landscape.
The conferences include keynote speeches from internationally renowned figures such as David Weston (COE, Teacher Development Trust), Ross McGill (Founder of Teacher Toolkit) and Professor Rachel Lofthouse (Professor of Teacher Education). Delegates will gain inspiration and methodology from experts who have real experience of their issues, on how to build empowered, robust and successful school communities whilst reducing work-related stress and student anxiety.
Workshops and sessions at the conferences will also be led by leading experts such as Mike Sheridan (HMI Regional Director, London), Steve Waters (Director of TeachWell Alliance) and Hywel Roberts and Dr Debra Kidd (authors of ‘Uncharted Territories: Adventures in Learning’), ensuring the highest quality of guidance and advice throughout both events.
The Staffing, Workload and Wellbeing Conference will focus on addressing the problem of staff retention, wellbeing and morale, with leadership strategies that lead to sustained culture change in workload management. The Metacognition and Self-Regulated Learning Conference will demonstrate pedagogy which enables students to participate actively in their own progress, giving them a real sense of purpose and drive.
