We also offer a number of large-scale flagship conferences for senior leaders and MATS CEOs on latest priorities, key directions in the secondary education sector.

We are bold thinkers and stand out innovators, motivating each other and our external team of over 250 education specialists/course leaders and conference speakers to explore new frontiers with us in an environment that supports and inspires us to always be better, rise to new challenges, and create outstanding solutions.

This is an exciting time to join us as we are currently expanding the company.

The Role

This is a unique, stimulating, varied and ever-changing role, one which offers a great opportunity for the right person to be a key player in a vibrant leading national company. We are looking for an inspirational and dynamic person who is confident, forward-thinking, outward looking, highly articulate, who has the drive, energy and charismatic dynamism to take through to market new courses, new conferences, occasionally new mini-projects which are of the highest standards while also being commercially profitable to the company.

The core of the role is to send to market an extensive range of new courses, large-scale conferences, and student revision sessions at regular intervals during the academic year, to teachers and leaders in the secondary education sector. The work is fast-paced, intellectually stimulating and satisfying, and is constantly changing with new trends and directions.

Detailed knowledge of specific subject or whole school expertise is not required, nor is direct experience of working in a school, as our external teams of course leaders, examiners, and other experts in their fields provide this.

Specifically, the Job Involves:

For Teacher Courses

  • Proactively leading our external specialist and experts (course leaders) in the design, planning and programmes for teacher courses.
  • Analysing the success of our current courses and conference provision, assessing trends, new directions and potential new growth areas for new courses and conferences. This work forms the basis for all new courses and conferences.
  • Advising and drawing upon the expertise of our specialists to provide the specific subject specialist and/or whole school knowledge we need, and then to put together new courses and conferences. The experts write out the programmes for the courses

  • For Large-Scale Conferences

  • Identifying and analysing the latest priorities, issues, trends in the wider secondary education sector, discussing with our external stakeholders, and following this through to set up large-scale conferences.
  • Sourcing and inviting national and international Keynote speakers, including current practitioners, to put on up to eight successful large-scale conferences per year, each focusing on a specific latest topic of priority, relevance, challenge or change affecting the secondary education sector, and to be of the quality, level and standard to attract a target audience of 150 – 200 delegates

  • Student Revision Conferences

  • Proactively lead in the design, planning and programmes of these conferences
  • To liaise directly with a range of educational people, particularly examiners to design, amend and update GCSE and A Level student revision conferences: work with the conference speakers, evaluate and give feedback

  • Qualities and Experience

    The Successful Candidate will:

  • Have a genuine interest in, and demonstrate understanding of quality education in the secondary education sector
  • Be aspirational, ambitious, and committed to excellence in professional development provision
  • Demonstrate intellectual depth, pace and creative flair
  • Demonstrate experience of producing products - ideally course programmes or similar – which will attract the relevant client market
  • Enjoy the challenge of actively researching new developments affecting secondary education; be excited by the forward-thinking challenges involved in offering excellent conferences which set the pace of highest quality, highest relevance and the place to go to for the top events in the secondary education field
  • Be an excellent communicator and negotiator, able to lead and guide successfully with a range of external stakeholders
  • Be able to inspire and motivate others
  • Be a graduate

  • We Offer:

  • Good salary for the right person
  • 35 hours, Mon - Fri
  • 25 days holiday + 3 additional days over Christmas, + bank holidays
  • A positive, supportive team of friendly and passionate staff
  • Generous pension scheme with incentives
  • On-site parking
  • Offices in central Wilmslow
