ABOUT THIS COURSE

We are delighted to offer this Leadership course, led by Stuart Glover, who has been Head of MFL at both The Commonweal School, Swindon and Beaufort Co-operative Academy.

This course will explore the unique challenges of the Head of MFL role, helping both experienced Heads of MFL and those new or aspiring to the role to develop as inspirational leaders and effective managers. With lively discussion and sharing of best practice, we will cover the key aspects of the role, including how to build our vision and inspire our departments, how to model outstanding teaching and learning, and how to raise the profile of MFL with SLT and within the school as a whole. We will look at how best to recruit new teachers, support the professional development of our staff and manage difficult situations in a range of contexts. In addition, there will be opportunities to discuss and review the impact of the new GCSE and A-Level specifications on our curriculum and schemes of work.

The course is designed for all Heads of MFL, as well as for those seeking promotion to a Head of Languages position.
